2021 Formula 1 Sao Paulo Grand Prix Preview
This weekend Formula 1 returns to Brazil for the latest Grand Prix of the 2021 season.
Max Verstappen will enter the weekend with a 19 point wholesomeness over title rival Lewis Hamilton. This is without Verstappen personal victory in last weekend’s Grand Prix in Mexico while Hamilton finished second.
Third in the suburbanite standings is Valtteri Bottas who qualified on pole position in Mexico surpassing stuff spun at the first corner ruined his race. In the constructors’ championship there is just one point separating Mercedes and second placed Red Bull going into this weekend’s Grand Prix.
Behind them is Scuderia Ferrari who has taken over third placed in the standings from McLaren. The former personal a 5-6 finish in Mexico to create a 13.5 point gap between them and McLaren. This is without the latter was only worldly-wise to secure a 10-12 finish from the Mexico City Grand Prix weekend.
Behind Ferrari and McLaren, joint fifth in the standings, are Alpine and AlphaTauri. This is without Alpine secured a ninth place finish in Mexico thanks to Alonso while, as mentioned earlier, Gasly secured fourth for AlphaTauri. Alpine are superiority on countback thanks to Esteban Ocon’s victory at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Behind the two, and seventh in the standings, is Aston Martin who are 38 points overdue Alpine and AlphaTauri and have a 45 point gap to eighth placed Williams. This is without Aston Martin managed to secure points in Mexico thanks to Sebastian Vettel’s seventh place finish.
Williams meanwhile secured a 16-17 finish in Mexico and their gap to Alfa Romeo has decreased to 12 points without the latter personal eighth thanks to Kimi Raikkonen. It moreover therefore ways that Alfa Romeo’s gap to last placed Haas has moreover increased with the tenth placed team still on zero points for the 2021 season.
Lastly to note this weekend’s Grand Prix is the third trial of Formula 1’s Sprint weekend format.
