Rosenqvist Signs with Meyer Shank: 2024 IndyCar season, Pagenaud departs

Andretti Auto sport, a racing team, plans to change its name to Andretti Global starting in the 2024 IndyCar season. This change is because the team's owners, Michael Andretti, and Dan Towriss formed Andretti Global in 2022. This new name will be used for the whole team in the future. Besides IndyCar, the team competes in other racing series like Indy NXT, Formula E, Extreme E, Super2 Series and more. They also want to join Formula 1 by 2026.

For the 2024 IndyCar season, drivers Colton Herta and Kyle Kirkwood will stay with the team. They might not have a fourth driver if they can't find a replacement. This is because they've decided not to have drivers who bring money to the team.

This is the second time in a row that an IndyCar team has changed its name during the offseason. Before, Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports became Arrow McLaren SP, and then it became Arrow McLaren.

The 2023 IndyCar Season is the 112th season of American open-wheel racing. It is the 28th season under IndyCar Series rules. The most important race was the 107th Indianapolis 500, won by Josef New garden.

The champion of the 2023 IndyCar season is Alex Palou, with his first win in 2021. Palou secured the championship before the last race of the season. This makes it the first time this happened since Sebastian Bourdais won in the 2007 Champ Car World Series.  He had a fantastic season and finished it in style by winning the race in Portland. He drove well and didn't let Scott Dixon catch up to him, which helped him win his second title.
